Welcome to Marty’s Info. I’m Marty, and I hope you enjoy it here.
Yes, I admit it, I’m an information junkie, and a bad one too.
Some years ago I used to spend three or four hours every day watching different news channels on TV. I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I finally realized something. The time I spent on the internet was a much better information fix that TV ever was. Watch a news channel and after 30 or 40 minutes you start hearing the same stories again. Change to a different channel and hear the same stories with a different slant. And of course for every minute of news you get a minute of commercial. Don’t even mention the happy talk that tickles your gag reflex. Finally one day I decided to turn the TV off and rely on the internet. What a glorious day that was! After a few months of not watching TV I started wondering why I was still paying the cable bill, so I turned that off as well.
It seems clear that 15 minutes online is worth at least several hours of TV news. Not only that, when you’re online you are in control of where you put your attention, not some nameless faceless producer or some pancake-made-up talking head. Better yet, on the internet you can actually find some real information, not just the over-hyped sensationalism of TV. Seriously, how many hours of George Zimmerman or Casey Anthony or O.J. Simpson or Orange Man Bad can you stand?
Really, the only problem with information on the internet is that there is just so much of it. That’s where I hope to come in. I’m going to try to run some interference for you. I will try to sort things out a bit and make things a little easier. To do this I will post honest reviews. Any recommendation I make will be an honest one. Anything that I recommend you buy (hopefully, of course, through my affiliate link) will be something I would buy myself.
That’s what Marty’s Info is all about. We’re all hunting for the right information. I will try to make your hunt a little easier.
